Cilaos
The day started a bit better. I had a nice breakfast at the "Hotel Cilaos" and left hiking a trail which I had printed its directions back home. The starting point was Palmiste Rouge – when I took a left turn from the road to this small town, this is when I started to think what would happen when I return. There was this very steep part with a STOP sign, so driving it with manual gear is not easy.
I asked people where my trail begins but I got various directions which lead me to do a different hike than I originally intended, the "Gros Galet". The trail began with a strenuous climb and after a while a decline. This was the moment I realized I'm not going back the same way (I was hoping it would be circular). So finally, the trail ended and I found myself just on a road…
Didn't know which way to go in order to reach my car, so just started walking until I saw someone. Of course it was the opposite direction. I'm walking there and suddenly a car passed by. I stopped it and took a short ride which saved me like 20 minute walking.
I drove back to the hotel, spent some time at the pool and after that grabbed a beer on the lake. I tried to have dinner at some "famous" restaurant in town, but when I walked there it seemed very dark, kind of closed so I went back to my hotel. I had dinner at the hotel but changed the "dish type" – if yesterday I had an appetizer today I had dessert.
The main dish was great! (can't remember what it was) and the dessert, although it had pineapple (which I love) wasn't great. It was good, a bit too sweet.
